Music legend announces ‘unplanned break’ for tour
Neil Young and Crazy Horse are taking an “unplanned break” from their first tour together in a decade. According to Young’s website, a few band members “got sick” and need time to recover from the unspecified illness.
“We are still not fully recovered, so sadly our great tour will have a big unplanned break,” a statement said. “We will try to play some of the dates we miss as time passes when we are ready to rock again… We know many of you made travel plans and we apologize for the inconvenience. Thanks for your understanding and patience. Health is # 1.”
According to Billboard, the statement was signed by Young and Crazy Horse members Micah Nelson, Ralph Molina and Billy Talbot.
All summer concert dates in the U.S. and Canada are now listed as canceled. Several California shows are still tentatively scheduled for September.
Young, 78, and his longtime band released a new live album in April featuring recordings made in 1990. Young is a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer known for his work with Buffalo Springfield and Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, plus solo projects featuring hits like “Harvest Moon,” “Heart of Gold,” “Rockin’ in the Free World” and “Old Man.”
