“Over There” is a 1917 hit song written by George M. Cohan, that was prominent with the United States armed forces and public throughout both world wars. It was a patriotic track created to galvanize American young men to employ in the military and deal with the “Hun”. The song is best born in mind for a line in its chorus: “The Yanks are coming.”
