Rihanna, has broken her silence on her 9th studio album with disappointing news for fans.
The 36-year-old music sensation turned fashion and beauty mogul has told Entertainment Tonight that she’s “starting over” on her hotly-anticipated ninth album. She spoke to the outlet while attending the launch of her new business venture, Fenty Hair.
Speaking to the publication, Rihanna gushed: “Music for me is a new discovery. I’m rediscovering things.” She then added: “I have been working on the album for so long that I kind of just put all that stuff aside.”

Rihanna then excitedly revealed: “Now I’m prepared to go back into the studio. Now I’m prepared. So I’m gonna start.” Under her breath, she then joked: “Gimme a second.”
“So we’re starting over,” the reporter then pressed, to which Rihanna confirmed: “Yeah, starting over.”
She added: “But, I don’t wanna neglect the songs that I have. So I wanna go back and listen to stuff with new ears with my new perspective and see what applies and what I still am in love with.”
Fans have reacted to Rihanna speaking out, with many taking to X to discuss. One person fumed: “JUST STARTING ???” Another then said: “It’s not funny anymore it’s been it’s 5 years since she first said this she’s literally laughing at us she’s a comedian fr.”
A third then penned: “Finally!!! It’s been eight years.” While a fourth said: “Dont get excited Y’all .. She is just only started.” And a fifth said: “It’s the first she admitted she’s back in the studio so that’s a good sign.”
Rihanna has not released an album since 2016 when she unveiled her studio album titled ANTI. At the time, the album contained 13 new songs, including the single Work and a collaboration with SZA.
